Eating and Body Image Concerns
Courtney began her career training at UCLA Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital on the Adolescent Eating Disorders unit. Courtney has since been working with clients in private practice and at USC Counseling and Mental Health who struggle with a range of eating and body image concerns including, but not limited to, diagnosed eating disorders and disordered eating, self-esteem and body image concerns, folks working on medically appropriate weight loss and management, individuals in differently abled bodies, LGBTQIA+ clients managing body distress/ dysphoria, and those starting or maintaining movement goals that are challenged by body image.
Athletes
Courtney has a passion for sport and movement that has been lifelong and challenged by her own injuries during adulthood. Driven by changes in ability during important life transitions, Courtney grew a passion for supporting athlete/ performer mental health. Since this time, she has completed a post-graduate certificate in Sport Social Work at the University of Michigan and works with recreational, competitive, elite and professional athletes and performers in private practice and in her work at USC Counseling and Mental Health. This work has include a range of topics from improving sport performance, to the mental side of injury recovery, confidence building, identity development in sport as well as outside of sport, and transitions in sport including between levels of sport and into/ after retirement.
